How do I install and configure a new printer?
1. Connect the printer using a USB port and turn on the printer
- Place the device near to you computer
- Connect the power cables to the printer
- Connect the USB cable to the printer and the other end to your the computer/laptop.
- Turn on the Printer
- Turn on your computer
2. Device driver installation
Windows 10 will recognize the device and automatically installs the required drivers. However some devices may require additional software/drivers for proper functioning. Insert the CD into the CD drive and complete the guided installation (If the printer comes with a CD). Inkjet printers and scanners might require calibration. Usually it can be done through printer software.
3. Print test page
Now your printer ready and you can print a test page.
Alternatively, you can add a printer or scanner to your computer through “Printers & scanners” option in Windows Settings.
Make sure that , “Download over metered connection” is disabled, otherwise system may download latest drivers for new devices or existing ones when you are using a metered connection like mobile data/cellular data. Learn how to share a local printer to other PCs in the network
