Unable to boot from my external hard drive. I am running Ubuntu on my external hard drive. Now that I am running windows on my internal hard drive, but I cant get my external to boot up. Ive tried to boot from bios F2 but it doesnt work.

This issue could be related to UEFI boot mode in your PC.

  • Reboot your PC and press F2 (select key as per your PC model & brand) to load BIOS
  • Go to "Advanced" menu and change the boot mode from "UEFI Boot" to "CMS Boot"
  • Go to Boot menu and select your USB external drive as primary boot option.
  • Save and exit BIOS.
  • Reboot your PC, Now it will boot from USB drive
