Edge allows users to group browser tabs into visually distinct groups. For example, you can group social media websites tabs in to a Tab group named “Social media” and work related tabs to “Work” tab group.

How to enable tab groups in Microsoft Edge Chromium ?

• Type this text in the address bar of Microsoft Edge and press enter key : edge://flags/#tab-groups
• Now a new page will open, there you can see a search box; type “Tab groups” and press enter key
• Here you can see 3 Tab group settings options
  • Tab Groups – Allows users to organize tabs into visually distinct groups
  • Tab Groups Auto Create – Automatically creates groups for users, if tab groups are enabled
  • Tab Groups Collapse Freezing – Experimental tab freezing upon collapsing a tab group
• Select “Enabled” from the drop down button located in the right side -do this for all thee options. Enable Tab Groups, Tab Groups Auto Create and Tab Groups Collapse Freezing

How to create Tab Groups? How to add a tab to Tab Group ?

1. Right click tab you want to add to new tab group and then click “Add to group” the context menu (see image).
2. Now click “New group”
3. Type in a name for the new tab group; in this example given below.. i entered “Technology” and press enter key.
4. Select the color you want to assign for this new tab group. Done.

Now you can add any tab to this newly created “Tab group” by just right clicking and then select “Add tab to group“

How to remove a tab from group ?

Right click tab and select “Remove from group” to remove a tab from tab group.

How to Disable Tab Groups In Microsoft Edge?

1. Open Microsoft Edge Chromium.
2. Type the following text in the address bar: edge://flags/#tab-groups.
3. Select either Default or Disabled from the drop down list next to the Tab Groups option to enable this feature.
4. Restart the browser when prompted.
