How To Install Windows Vista Service Pack 2 (SP2) ?

Windows Vista SP2 (Service Pack 2) can be installed on your computer if you have already installed SP1 (Vista Service Pack 1). You can check this by clicking Start button-> Right click Computer -> Right click Properties. If Windows Vista SP1 is not installed, the first you have to download and install Service Pack 1. After that you can install SP2.

Before you begin to install Vista SP2

  • Restart your PC
  • You have a reliable Internet connection
  • Laptop: Connect it to power outlet and do not disconnect it until the SP2 installation is over.
  • Desktop: Connect it to a UPS (uninterruptible power supply).
  • Make sure you have 10 GB space in C drive, use Disk Cleanup tool to free up space.
  • Copy important files to an external Hard disk/USB flash drive.
  • Temporarily disable Antivirus software. Some Antivirus software may prevent SP2 installation or slow down the installation process.

Now , double click the downloaded SP2 package to start the installation process.
