There are two methods to solve this issue.

1.  Unregister and Register Windows Installer service

In this step first, we will unregister the existing window installer service and register it again.

  • search for cmd in search.
  • Go to Command Prompt and click on Run as administrator.

2. Scan System File Checker (SFC) [ Best to Solve Error Code 2147024891]

  • Go to Command Prompt and click on Run as administrator.
  • If you are using Windows 10 or Windows 8, first run the inbox Deployment Image Servicing and Management (DISM) tool. For other windows you can skip this step.
  • Paste DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth and press enter.

  • This will take some time to executed.
  • once it is completed. Go to Command Prompt and paste sfc /scannow and press Enter.

  • The sfc /scannow command will scan all protected system files, and replace corrupted files with a cached copy located at %WinDir%\System32\dllcache.
  • %WinDir% represents the Windows folder i.e. C:\Windows.

Do not close the command window until the whole process is completed. In the end, you will get any of these messages.

  1. Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations. (no missing or corrupted system files)
  2. Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files and successfully repaired them. Details are included in the CBS.Log %WinDir%\Logs\CBS\CBS.log.
  3. Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them. Details are included in the CBS.Log %WinDir%\Logs\CBS\CBS.log.
  4. Windows Resource Protection could not perform the requested operation.
