What is DNS?
The Domain Name System (DNS) is like a phonebook of the Internet. When we type in the domain names in Web browser , like ebugg-i.com or speedtestom.com. The Web browsers contacts the DNS to get the Internet Protocol (IP) address of the domain you have entered in the browser. DNS server looks up its database and returns the IP addresses to your browser. Then the browsers connects to that IP address and can load resources you requested. In short, DNS helps humans eliminate the need to memorize all these numeric IP address for eg: “192.168.2.1” , instead humans can easily memorize domain names like “google.com”.
All machines connected to the internet have an unique IP address. All other machines on the internet are using this unique address to find the device. DNS is a complicated set of networked server spread across the world
