Skype video call might not work if the application doesn’t have access to your device’s camera. Sometimes, your PC’s webcam driver doesn’t work properly. Running an outdated or unsupported Windows version can also cause the Skype camera not to work. Install Latest version Skype and follow these steps metioned below.

1. Check Camera Access

You have to make sure that the Skype app has access to use your computer’s camera. Otherwise, you might be unable to make Skype video calls. Here’s how to enable Skype’s access to your Windows 10.

STEP 1 : Launch the “Windows Setting Menu” and Select “Privacy“.

STEP 2 : After selecting privacy on the left in “App Permission” section click on Camera.

Step 3 : Scroll down to the “Microsoft Store Apps” section and check if Skype’s access to your camera is enabled. Toggle Skype on to allow it access to your camera.

2. Another Video Conferencing/chatting Software is accessing the camera.

Video conferencing apps like Zoom, or Teams Meeting or Google meet might be already accessing your camera, this could prevent Skype from accessing the camera. Restart the PC and check again. I recoomend you to uninstall other video chatting apps temporarily , If you are still facing the issue.
