Windows print log will help you to identify issues with the print system. Print logs are extremely helpful to troubleshoot issues with printing. Driver issues, spooler service issues, and other detailed information related to the error can be retrieved using these logs. Print jobs are not logged by default in Windows 10/Server. You have to enable it manually in the event viewer.

Windows 10 : Enable PrintService Operational Log

Open Event Viewer and navigate to this object Windows Logs -> Applications and Services Logs -> Microsoft -> Windows -> PrintService

Here you can see two entities “Admin” and “Operational”. Right-click “Operational” and select “Enable Log”, as shown in the image below.

Now print log is enabled, take a test print to see the print event logs. See this example given below.

Windows 10 Troubleshoot print Log
Windows 10 Troubleshoot print Log
The print spooler failed to reopen an existing printer connection because it could not read the configuration information from the registry key S-1-5-21-2-1985895-3264712287-702301011-500\Printer\Connections. The print spooler could not open the registry key. This can occur if the registry key is corrupt or missing, or if the registry recently became unavailable.

Now you can reproduce the issue you are trying to troubleshoot.

Windows Server : Enable PrintService Operational Log

Open Server Manager->Event Viewer and navigate to this object Windows Logs -> Applications and Services Logs -> Microsoft -> Windows -> PrintService

Here you can see two entities “Admin” and “Operational”. Right-click “Operational” and select “Enable Log”.
