How to stop PowerPoint from automatically closing?
Follow these steps if PowerPoint crashes after sleep mode .
1. Low Memory Issue
If your PC is running out of memory, then you might face this problem.
How to check memory usage?
- Search for Task Manager (Press CTRL + SHIFT + ESC keys)
- Open Task Manager -> Process
- Click on the Memory tab
- Now, check for memory usage
- If apps are consuming more than 85 percent of available memory space
- Close some apps before entering to sleep mode
2. Memory Corruption or Faulty RAM
Corrupted RAM (Random access memory), can cause such issues. You can run memory diagnostic tool to diaganose your system memory.
3. Set PowerPoint to Auto save
The best way to save your data from losing is, enable Auto Save feature in PowerPoint.
How to enable AutoSave feature in PowerPoint ?
- Click on File Menu
- Select Options
- Click on Save
- Go to “Save Auto Recover information every” settings and set an interval to auto save the PowerPoint Documents.
3. Disable Auto Sleep
You can disable auto sleep for PC if the above-mentioned methods are not working for you.
- Go to Windows Setting
- Likewise, click on the System
- Select the Power and Sleep settings
- Now, click on Screen and Sleep
- Adjust Sleep settings to Never (or choose a time that is suitable for your work)
4. Update and Repair Office
To update and repair your office follow these steps
- Open PowerPoint or any Office app
- Now, Go to the File menu.
- Click on Account
- Move to Update options.
- Select Update Now
